Most of my time was spent working. They stuck me in a sewing shop making clothes for other inmates. It wasn’t glamorous, but it kept the days moving. The pay? Pennies, literally. Still, those pennies bought coffee, ramen, or soap from commissary, so you hustle for them.

Most of the day is structured. You wake up early, eat breakfast, and get to work if you have a job—kitchen duty, laundry, janitorial work, or even making license plates. If you’re not working, you might be in a program like GED classes or drug rehab.

Afternoons are for recreation—basketball, weights, or just chilling in the yard. Evenings are quieter: dinner, TV, cards, or reading until lockdown. It’s not exciting, but staying busy helps the time pass.
