Man is the deadliest animal on the Earth - what wild animal is the second deadliest?

Sandsc35 here's the top 10 deadliest from a list I found: #1 Mosquito, #2 Asian Cobra, #3 Australian Box Jelly fish, #4 great white shark (now this one I believe!) #5 African liion, #6 Australian saltwater crocodile (also something I would not want to run into!), #7 elephant (but they look so cute and sweet, apparently not!), #8 plolar bear (yeah, also another scary one!), #9 cape buffalo (they are HUGE!), #10 poison dart frogs. Other than the shark, croc, lion and polar bear, the list really surprised me. I would not have thought of the mosquito as being the deadliest.

Mosquito is handsdown the worst. They are responsible for more death than any other living creature on the earth. Still today, thousands die each year from mosquitos. Once you get passed mosquitos nothing compares. Things like lions, crocodiles, poisonous snakes etc dont even compare. I dont know the exact figures but your looking at very tiny number for these compared to mosquitos.

The tiny box jellyfish irukandji is exceptionaly venemous. It can sting you with you out even knowing, because its bout the size of your pinky nail, and you can't even feel its sting. so you die without really knowing what happen. But unless you live in austrailia you don't have to worry bout that little jellyfish.

It also depends on your definition of deadliest.

if you mean 1:1 it would be some large animal, or perhaps a shark.

if you mean something that can spread viruses and things, then yes, mosquitoes and other small insects would be.

depending on the angel it could be all sorts of things

I would rather be in a room with a mosquito which I could swat away than an African lion. For me, an African lion is the deadliest animal. Using one of its large sharp paws it can tear a man open and then feast on your body with other lions in tow.

Apart from man, the mosquito is the deadliest animal. It's not the blood sucking that kills so many, it's the transmission of diseases such as malaria.
