i need answers for this question: how many megabytes is one gigabyte?, please. regards
One GB is equal to 1023^3 bytes but in december 1998 IEC introduced new symbols and prefixes for binary multiples and changed the earlier ones (1024MB=1GB) so on the new definitions 1GB is no longer equal to 1023^3 bytes (1024) but 1000^3 bytes, the old 1023^3 has been replaced by gibibyte term.
In short
1024MB = 1GB (Old definition)
1000MB = 1GB (New Definition)
1024 = 1Gb
