Which weather do you like hot or cold? and why?Talent40 - 10 Answers
When I grew up in the Ozarks, it always seems insufferably hot in the Summer and bitingly cold in the winter, so we had both. Even if the temperature never got over 95, the humidity made it truly miserable. After I moved to the west, the humidity was much less, so the heat was bearable, even at well over 100 all Summer.
I prefer hot over cold. In Arizona the temperature sometimes goes over 120, and is very uncomfortable but livable with the low humidity. Cold is not merely uncomfortable, but actually painful to a point. And the idea of putting on more and more layers of clothing is a major nuisance which doesn't always work as well as one would like. I can also live without my face covered with ice crystals from the own breath.
After a certain point, cold temperature differences do not seem to register. Twenty below zero or forty below zero will feel not much, if any, different because your nerve endings cannot recognize the change in temperatures at that level. However, 115 as opposed to 130 can be felt easily.
I'm very happy with the temperatures in Central America where I live now. Rarely is it over 85, nor below 65, so it is about ideal. We can tell our seasons by the weather. If it's cloudy and raining, it's Summer. If clear and dry, Winter.
If I just have to choose between the two,I'd say for sleeping, I prefer cold. I can't sleep when it's too warm but, when I was in Asia, with over 80F and no A.C and window in my boarding house room, I could sleep with fan on or lay a piece of wet towel on it .I generally have high body heat is what I am always told. I don't even like my legs rub against each other because they are always so warm so I always wear pajamas pants when I go to bed. So assuming if my house has wooden floor or cold tile, I don't mind hot weather but if it's carpet, I prefer cold weather.
For fashion purposes, I prefer hot weather. The reason is simple. I can wear anything I want from skirt, skort, dress, mini dress, tank top, there's just many choices while in winter, I have one choice only. Coat and Jeans or whatever pants that keep you warm. It's not like you can JUST wear tank top with skort and walk out like that.
I definitely prefer the cold to the heat. I always have more energy when it is cool. The heat just drains the energy out of me. I used to have a mother-in-law who was all full of energy all summer and would talk nonstop about how wonderful the heat was. Meanwhile, I would do my Gollum impression and hide in my cave (well, my house, at least) until the weather cooled off.
I do okay in temperatures up to around 80, maybe 85 if it's overcast. But above that, my energy levels drop rapidly the higher the temperature goes up. So, of course, I live in South Texas, where the temperature is usually in the 80s by April and by May is in the 90s, where it stays until at least October. I love the fall, because it is the beginning of the time of year when my energy levels come back up.
Hot, I'm a baseball player and I love playing in the heat. I've played baseball in a winter league before and it was very different. As a pitcher I had to keep hand warmers in my back pocket and I had to stick my hands in my pockets to warm up my hands every few pitches. You could barley grip the ball in cold weather. Our bodies feel very stiff during the cold games and you have to keep moving to stay warm. In the summer my body stays loose and I don't have to stretch as often. I love it when we play games in 90 degrees when we sweat and our heads throb from the heat and you feel the blood pumping throughout your body. Hot weather creates a more competitive type of setting for any sport, to see what side will fatigue and run out of breath first....
I like cold weather. The reason I like cold is because you I can bundle up and get warm. I like how you can beat the cold. When it is hot, there is no way to beat it, unless you have a pool. Air conditioning cost money and a coat only costs money once.
I just think the cold is nicer. When it is hot you sweat and can be miserable. To beat the cold, you just need your blanket. I agree with you! I live in a hot climate and would love to live somewhere cold.
I really like the snow as well and like seeing the snow fall. I think the best place would be in a nice climate like Colorado, or California. The beach is a great place to live near.
I prefer the weather to be pleasantly cool, in the 60's and low 70's. I live in south Florida, where the winters are perfect. It's cool and comfortable for about 5 months, that's when it gets crowded with tourists here. The summers are really awful! The heat and humidity is really unbearable, unless you do a lot of water sports. I basically hide in the air conditioning during those times. In south Florida we have only
2 seasons...tourist season, and hurricane season!
I'm all about some hot weather as opposed to cold weather. Sure, you can beat the cold by bundling up, but you can also beat the heat by removing layers of clothing. I guess maybe if I lived in a warm climate all the time I would probably say I prefer cold weather, but I'm from the Midwestern United States, so I constantly dream of sunny beaches and palm trees, especially when I have the winter blues....
I live in the north east part of the country and we get a pleasant mix of all four seasons. I would rather have it cold. Hey you can always dress for cold but once you're too hot you can only dress down so far then you gotta go inside and use the AC....
I usually prefer warm weather: some thing in the range 28-32C. But between hot 'n' cold I'd go for hot....
Thanks friend for providing your opinion about cold and hot weather....
