What do you think about the series Ancient Aliens in the history channel?

Do you believe that they are our creators?

I think that the notion has some basis in probability. There was, after all, an unexplained (and many would say, unexplainable) surge in the development of the human race. There are also many clues that suggest the possibility. From my perspective, it seems more ludicrous to be dismissive of the notion than it does to be its fervent supporter. Of course, from an objective point of view, the only stance that seems logical is one that accepts the possibility without going all the way to supporting its credibility.

I would guess that within another 400-500 years we will be in a position to do the very same thing. So, I think the real question is this: When we have the capability, do you think we will be able to control all the rogue sectors of civilization, and actively prevent them from dabbling in this way with other civilizations? And that's assuming we don't decide it is a valuable, meaningful, desired objective to do so.

It easily makes just as much sense as any of our creation stories. And the diehard dissers, the pooh pooh-ers of skepticism, those who staunchly protect their opinions from question by hiding behind "no solid evidence," seem to usually become a little quieter when examples like the slow-motion (impossible) air parade over Arizona is mentioned. My guess is that any solid pooh pooh-ers who witnessed that parade are quite a bit quieter these days.

I like the series, but I can't yet claim to "believe" it is a true accounting of our early development stages. Is it possible? Yes, certainly possible. Is it likely? Perhaps moreso than the answers put forth by other groups, but we won't know for certain any time soon, is my guess.

I think they have boatload after boatload of theories and wild speculation about a myriad of structures and objects but not even one scintilla of evidence other than "it had to be aliens". Their astounding lack of evidence is exceeded only by their incredible disdain for the skillsets of ancient humans and the idea that they could not have possibly constructed anything beyond a simple mud hut without intervention from Kang and Kodos (you know - the aliens on The Simpsons) and a bewildering belief that only they know what transpired in the ancient past. If there were ancient aliens why on earth didn't they teach man the secrets of modern materials or did they just climb back into their interstellar spacecraft fabricated out of rocks when they got tired of performing their extra terrestrial parlor tricks.

I think it is possible that earth was visited in centuries past but the arguments presented for it on this series are kind of lame. One argument they make over and over again is "how could humans POSSIBLY have built these huge structures?" and then they answer their own question with "It had to be aliens helping them out."

Well, no, no it didn't. Earlier civilizations weren't dumber, they were just different. For instance, we still can't reproduce the Roman aquaducts but we are pretty sure aliens did not build them. The Romans just knew some stuff we didn't. We know some stuff they didn't.

I do admire that Greek guy's hairdo though. How he gets it to stand straight out like that is amazing. Maybe aliens help him style it.

The dumbest show I have ever seen in my life. Nobody has the slightest clue how we got here and it's nonsense to think that aliens put us here. Wouldn't that suck if it just turned out that aliens created us? I'd walk right up to one of them and just start beating the crap out of them if that was the case.

I don't want anyone to have created me. I want to be my own person that is in charge of their own development. Aliens suck anyways. They think they're way cooler than they are. The series is bull and I will never watch it.

While I don't jump up and say Yay, they hit the nail on the head, aliens created us, LOL, I do think that theory is as valid as any other. I sometimes like watching the show because I like seeing all the new tidbits they come up with. At this point I don't agree or disagree rather I admit i sure as heck don't know.

They do tend to provide more visual footage than many other shows have.

I'd be careful Jiggyt46 the Lizard People are easily frightened, but they'll be back, and in greater numbers. As for you Gurldo11 I can't believe you're gonna bring up the Phoenix lights as an example. What...you get tired of watching "Loose Change"? Bracec10 - great post!!! Hathair from tinfoil static electricity is the worst!!!

This is a television show to entertain. What you can touch, the artifacts are real. The theories they present are nothing than that, theories, and rather ridiculous ones at that. Fascinating and ridiculous, "snake-oil."

Every time I pass the Ancient Aliens program while I am flipping cable channels I can convinced that there is less and less evidence of intelligent life on THIS planet let alone others!
