Do you believe there are real psychics or just scam artists?

By God I assume you're talking about consciousness which is a common thing we all share, not an all powerful deity. I would have problems with that statement. I believe psychics can be real. Of course there are charlatans out there who claim to be legit and are not.

It is a field where you can get away with fraud. But, there are some who might actually be real psychics. If psychics were real then they would win the lottery is not a true statement. If I was a psychic then I would not try to win the lottery.

Also, psychic ability does not mean that you can know what the lottery numbers are. There are different types of psychic abilities.

The validity is not enough for me at the moment, but I think they do exist. People can't just make up things to deny their existence because you have never experienced one who is real. With my knowledge of quantum physics and the nature of reality, it is plausible.

Thanks for the question. A true definition of what psychic means needs to be clear before we can jump to a conclusion. I don't know if knowing lottery numbers before hand is something that makes you psychic.

I do believe there are people with that are extra sensitive to surroundings and some have given in to their ability to clear their mind and receive signs and read feelings. I think we all have the ability but most are so busy with daily life that we push it back. I worked with a woman that could see aura's and had some psychic ability. She told me something about my life that she would have no way of knowing and I had never talked about to anyone at work. That kind of proved it to me. She was also a Wiccan. She said she gets flashes of things sometimes but does not know what they mean a lot of the time. I think true psychics just train themselves to understand the signs or feelings they get so they can interpret them.

I don't think it is much different than a feeling I sometimes get when I meet someone and I get a little twinge telling me to not trust that person. Over the years that twinge has proved right many times.

Of course there are always fakes who are good enough con artists to suck in people that are desperate to hear from loved ones and can pull facts from them without them knowing they have given any information.

I have had the odd intuitive experience in my life, including, when I was very small, telling my mother that one of her friends (whom I hadn't seen in years) was crying (she had just that day been diagnosed with cancer). So, I think that there may be something to the idea of psychic phenomena.

I am less clear on "professional psychics" and the like. I don't think that we are advanced enough to be able to control it necessarily yet. If there is any such thing as a sixth sense, it looks like intuition and "gut feelings" and is unpredictable.

For what it is worth, my mom and I worked out a signal that whoever passed first (which ended up being her) would use if she ever needed to contact the other through a psychic. If anyone ever tells me that they have a message from my mom, unless it leads off what that sentence, I won't believe a word of it.

No. If psychics were real, they would have won the lottery to prove it. It is interesting to see tarot readers, palm readers, and psychics live in our neighbor and open their home to the public. I wonder why they need to open up shop in a good neighborhood.

I grew up studying palmistry. There is no psychic power involved in the art of reading palms. There is really no proof that it foretells the future, but it is interesting to see an interpretation of the lines in our hands. I have studied my palms over the years, and the lines in my left hand have somewhat changed.

I think that there are people who have premonitions such as myself:

However, I do not believe that they have honed the skills so well that they can tell others' future.

Thanks for asking your question.

I truly believe that there are people out there that can predict certain things about my life. I think they have been born with a gift but I also believe that they are only a handful. Most of the people that are psychics are scam artists that find desperate people and feed on them. I have encounter one man (I'm not sure if he is still alive) which I felt had the gift. His name is John Deere and he lives/ed in Toronto. He helped the police find a missing child and the murderer. I went to him after a 2 month wait and he was very good. He told me many things about my past. Even two things that I did not remember (too young) and actually verified with my mother. HE also said things about my future and almost everything he has said to me has happened.

I was a bit on the fence with this one, since we hear so many reports of psychics who predicted this and that. Then I heard of a magician (The Amazing Randi) James Randi who has made quite an impact on his investigation of psychics. He presents a One Million Dollar Challenge (beginning in 1964 and continuing till 2010, I believe) to any psychic who can prove paranormal abilities by being tested under laboratory conditions. Guess what? Not one psychic has passed even the preliminary tests, and many famous psychics actually refused to take the challenge when offered the opportunity. To me, that spoke volumes. I am now a major skeptic.

I don't think anyone can predict everything but I do believe that as humans we are capable of more than we know. Sometimes I dream things or just know things that I have no physical knowledge of. Maybe it's the subconscious mind recording and interpreting thing we don't consciously notice. I'm not sure what it is but I know some people are just more intuitive than others.

God is within all of us , so if someone possesses psychic abilities it would have to come from God. Psychics can't predict everything just like an athlete cannot win every time they compete. It is just a little extra heightened sense that we all have . Some of us just take notice of it more than others.

Sorry no. I only believe in God. I pray for the blessing I need. I have faith in the goodness of the Heavenly father. He will provide what I need and I cannot put my future in the hands of people that don't even know me.
