Do you believe in aliens?

To believe in something I would need to see some convincing evidence and I haven't seen any convincing evidence for the existence of aliens, certainly not intelligent aliens. This does not mean I firmly believe they do not exist; I just have an open mind about it, but lean somewhat on the side of non-existence, at least in our galaxy, as I think if they were there we would have found something by now. But I could be proved wrong tomorrow...

As for non-intelligent alien life, that is another question. Given the number of stars in our galaxy and the number of earth-like planets which should exist, it would seem probable that life of some sort has arisen elsewhere.

One fact which points to life being probable on an earth-like planet is that the earliest traces of life we have found date from not very long after the formation of the earth; the short timescale suggests a high likelihood of life developing. Of course it could be that life arrived on earth from elsewhere, but if so, we would expect it also to exist elsewhere, both at its source and in other earth-like locations which it may have reached.

We will soon be able to detect more relatively small (i.e. non gas giant) planets and should also be able to analyse their atmospheres; if we find significant amounts of free oxygen, this would be a strong indicator of some form of life, so we may have an answer in the near future.

We do not yet know exactly how life got started, so it may turn out after all to have been incredibly unlikely, and to have happened only once in our galaxy, or even in the universe. Or it may be that microbial life is common, but more complex life forms are very rare, and intelligent life forms even rarer, or non-existent, apart from ourselves.

I believe that even Biblically, there could be life on other planets, I don't think they're green faced aliens we see on TV, but possibly beings just like us, maybe even races that never fell to sin.

It's very hard to say, but in the words of the movie Contact; If it's only us out there, then there's a lot of wasted space. Basically this means there is such a large galaxy, that it would be kind of a lot of extra room if it's never visited of lived upon.

Maybe when we get to heave we will get to visit all of the other galaxies. That would be amazing!

Thanks!

There might be some form of life on other planets but I'm not sure there's many planets that have all the properties earth has and have been stable long enough for intelligent life to form. A planet has to be the right temperature, not be too big or small, have a stable surface, have water, an atmosphere that can support life and not be bombarded by meteorites. I'm sure there's lots of other factors that I haven't thought of. If there are other planets like earth, they might be so far away that it would be impossible to ever see an alien.

I believe that life exists on other planets. I believe that there is a statistically relevant chance that life exists on multiple planets, as a direct result of the number of planets that exist. The problem is the profound distance that exists from planet to planet. I am fairly sure that I will never, and my children will never prove or disprove the existence of life on other planets. We live for such a short time. As a result we as humans have a very short window to extrapolate.

Some researchers believe that man was a hybrid created by aliens or extra terrestrials. When people think of aliens they sometimes may think of "little green men". It is highly probable that there are humanoid type aliens as well as reptilian and insectoid aliens. There are many articles on the internet and bookstores about various types of aliens.

I don't believe that we are the only intelligent life form in the universe. I also don't believe that creatures who could build a spaceship that would transport them to earth would have much patience with humans and their "infant" technology. I seriously doubt we have received alien visitors.

I believe there must be other life forms in this universe. It's just statistically improbable that we are the only living things in such a vast amount of space.

I believe that there is some sort of life outside of Earth somewhere in the Universe other than on Earth.
