The king cobra is the longest venomous snake in the world. On average they grow to be between 9.8-13 feet however there was one king cobra held at the London Zoo whose length reached 18.5 feet. In the wild the average life span of a king cobra is about 20 years. Their flexible jaws allow them to consume large prey although they mainly feed on other venomous snakes and can go several months without eating when they have eaten large prey.

The King Cobra is the world?s longest venomous snake.

In fact it can grow so long that it can rear up over an adult man and strike down on you. They can grow up to lengths of 5.5m - 5.6m with some reports and claims of over 6m King Cobras.

They are cannibalistic snakes eating other snakes.

I should also say that there are no poisonous snakes, only venomous ones.

See pic of King Cobra.

If you are talking in terms of the strongest and the longest snake then it is the inland taipan of Australia. It can kill 200000 mice and 100 grown men in a single bite or delivery of venom which contains a dangerous chemical called Taipoxin capable of killing us in less than 45 minutes if not treated. The snake can grow as long as 2.5 meters but luckily they are shy in nature so won't attack if left alone.
