Multiplication Vocabulary

Multiplicand is each number that is multiplied to another number. 
Generally, a number when multiplied to another number, is known as a multiplicand. Therefore the two numbers that are multiplied in a multiplication problem are each called a multiplicand.

Ex. 2x2
(this would be an equation, and the numbers are the factors)

The answer = 4
(four would be the product)

The answer is only called a product though when its multiplication.

The two numbers you multiply together are called factors, but it all really depends on the equation you are solving for. you can have intigers, variable etc.
