If it is not the simple question it appears to be then we have to ask what the difinition of a week is.

A dictionary definition of a week is seven consecutive days. It is not defined in relation to a fraction of a year..

A day is the amount of time it takes the body in question to rotate around its axis once. On Earth this is 24 hours on other planets it is different.

An hour is defined as 1/24 of a mean solar day

So the answer realy depends on the question. Do you mean earth weeks and earth hours or did you have a different planert in mind?

OK....Here it is.

There are actually 365 and 1/4 days in a year. Which is why we have leap year every 4 years.

So you must add the extra 6 hours to the total number of hours in a year : 365 x 24 = 8760 + 6 = 8766

Now you divide 8766 by 365 and that = 24.016 which is the actual amount of hours in a day.

So if you take 24.016 x 7 .....you have exactally 168.112 hours in a week.

There are 128 hours in a week. This comes from the number of hours in a day (24) times the number of days in a week (7). In short, 7x24= 168.

(The additional information gives the impression that this may be a trick question, but if so, I'm not understanding it.)

This is pretty basic mathematics. If there are 24 hours in a day (and there are) and seven days in a week (there also are) then there are 168 hours in a week. 24 X 7 = 168
