i have a new question which is : how do you find the circumference of a circle if you have the diameter?, thanks
If you have the diameter of a circle then the circumference can be found by multiplying the circumference by Pi. Pi is a mathematical constant equal to 3.142 (to 3 d p)
Example
A circle has a diameter of 15cm. Work out the circumference.
All you need to do is multiply the 15 by Pi:
3.142 x 15 = 47.1cm to 1 decimal place.
The formula for the circumference of a circle is 2 x pi x radius.
Now since the diameter = 2 x radius,
The circumference is pi x diameter.
Circulference = pi x diameter
pi = 3.14
if the diameter is 5, multiply 5 with 3.14 to get the circumference
circumference = 15.7
Just multiply the diameter of the circle with PI(3.142)
If 'd' is the diameter of the circle then the circumference is = PI*d
