How long can a person go on without eating but only drinking?

That depends on the person. A heavier person will probably survive longer than a very skinny person. A sick person won't survive as long as a healthy one. Someone with extraordinary endurance or who has fasted before will last longer than someone who's eaten 3 meals a day for years. Going without food for 7-14 days is a feat, but not yet in the neighborhood of miraculous, as some people have survived as long as a month or more without eating.

I saw a documentary on TV some time ago where a man had fallen into a crevice while hiking and survived (if I remember correctly) 36 days without a single thing to eat. Apparently, by that point, his body was so weak and starving, it had begun to consume his heart and other muscles. He survived, but just barely, and had to spent quite a long time in recovery.

I know fluid is more important as no fluids cause dehydration as well as hallucinations. It depends on the individual as far as how often they eat on reg basis and the size they are.Women have more fat stored as men have more muscle but a mans muscle would breaak down just leaving fat and a womans fat would feed off itself. I only eat once a day so would be easier for me plus i am and shape. Also if your used to eating alot through the day your mind may not be able to handle the fact of no food with the fatigue and irritability and cause you to loose your mind. Also will and adrenaline are powerful things that we all have inside us and can vary from one person to another.

Everybody is different, some are stronger than others but if you are asking how long an individual can survive without eating if the person drinks water, then I would say about a month. A month if the person is very strong and healthy. If a person isn't in good shape and is not very healthy, then I would say only 1-2 weeks.

By drinking you mean drinking only water? In that case it would be about 3 weeks. Of course it depends on the person... If drinking means sinking anything, that's a totally different matter, since you can get lots of nutrients and everything you need to survive from some special nutrition drinks...

The general rule is 3-4 minutes without air, 3-4 days without water, 3-4 weeks without food. At such times without such things you die. Not recommended.
