Why does the begin 2 boil again once cold water is poured down the side of the flask?

When putting hot boiling water in a flask and puttin a stopper on it. when u put cold water down the side of the flask, why does the water begin 2 boil?

The water in the flask will boil (if stoppered) under cold water because you have stoppered the flask over the heat, and at its boiling point. because of that, pretty much all the air in the flask is pushed out, and there is only water and water vapor. the water vapor has a lower heat capacity than liquid water and when placed under the cold water it will condense on the sides of the flask, causing the pressure in the flask to go down. because of the ideal gas law we know that when pressure goes down so does temperature, causing the water to boil under a much lower than normal temperature. this will continue until the temperature of the water is no longer above it's boiling point for that pressure. i hope that helped...

With the stopper in place, there is a build up of pressure in the flask which prevents boiling. Taking off the stopper to pour the cold water in will drop the pressure back to atmospheric.

What if u dont take off da stopper & pour da cold water on da outside of da flask, y then does it begin 2 boil again?
