Is chemistry Easy?

Like most learning, chemistry will be easier or more difficult relative to the amount of effort one puts into learning the subject. Introductory chemistry, such as one would take in high school or freshmen-level college courses is something that everyone should be able to learn, so long as they are willing to pay attention in class and work practice problems at home. These types of courses don't require much more than basic algebra skills for the majority of the work. At this level, one will also have to learn all kinds of new definitions in order to be able to think about problems. (i.e. If you don't learn what an acid is, you won't be able to pick out acids and bases from chemical equations.)

I've only taken three chemistry courses up until this point (General Chemistry I and II, and Organic Chemistry I), but I feel confident in saying that for these types of courses, chemistry is pretty easy for the student who can do algebra, can make logical connections based on material previously learned, and is willing to put time into working practice problems. For someone who may not have the time to practice problems or is lacking algebra skills, chemistry can be very difficult, though; this is something that I have witnessed first-hand as a chemistry tutor.

Good Luck!

For some people, Chemistry comes like breathing, for others, it's very difficult. There are several keys to success in Chemistry. This first is GOING TO CLASS. The second is asking when you need help. There will be concepts that you don't understand. That's ok. But, if you don't let you TI or professor know you have a question how can they help you? Overall, Chemistry is not the easiest subject on the planet, but almost everyone can do it!

It depends on the person ..if you have a natural inclination towards it , it will probably appear easy to you and if you are more inclined towards the arts/humanities, chemistry will probably appear as a dull and boring subject ... But i actually think chemistry needs lesser powers of understanding and more powers of memorizing than the other sciences. So if you are good at memorizing something you will probably do well in the chemistry classes

Whether or not chemistry is easy all depends on your interests and aptitudes. I did not find chemistry difficult because I enjoy anything that has to do with the sciences. I did, however, find Economics, nearly impossible. I had little interest it the course and took it only because I needed the credit and it fit into my schedule.

It depends upon the person. Nothing is difficult as long as you have the perseverance, the courage to try and the faith to believe in yourself. Diligence over intelligence. One doesn't have to be a super genius to be good at chemistry. As Thomas Edison said, a genius is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration.

It's not easy and it's not that difficult either. If you love it, it'd be easier.

I kind of liked it when I was in high. I'm not good with numbers, but I could solve chemistry quite well.

Physics is the most difficult and I hate it.

Chemistry is difficult if you don't have any background on other sciences. In Chemistry, math is also required making it more difficult for some. Science + Math = Chemistry.
