C

The human blood has the color red due to our hemoglobin in our body. The blood is saturated with red blood cells. As we all know, the blood is actually made up of a number of things such as the yellow plasma and the blood cells such as the red blood cells that carry our oxygen around our body and white blood cells that combat diseases and bacteria. In particular, it is the red blood cells and its interaction with oxygen molecules that give it a red characteristic and subsequently, that gives our blood a red color.

A very cool interesting fact to bring up for your next conversation would be that animals or insects that have plenty of copper in their blood, actually has blue blood. This includes lobsters, crabs and snails. Spiders also have blue blood.

Arterial blood and capillary blood are bright red, as oxygen imparts a strong red color. Deoxygenated blood is a darker shade of red; this is present in veins, and can be seen during blood donation and when venous blood samples are taken.

Human blood is actually yellowish-purple to brown if you talk in terms of its composition but due to the pigment haemoglobin (which is a important part in the carrying of oxygen by your blood to various parts of the body) is red, so when it clots outside we see dark and deep red.

Inside your body is a mixture of plasma (which is yellowish) and blood cells (which are red and white). It is oxygen in the blood cells which give blood its red color.
