Shooting stars?Wakain81 - 10 Answers
I have seen a shooting star and I made a wish, even though I didn't really think it could come true. The reality is, the idea of wishing upon a shooting star has become a romanticized idea, so by just doing it you feel a little happier inside, yet ofcourse a dream will not simply come true just because you wished upon it. It is one of those motivators on par with a birthday cake candle-blowing wish, meaning that the action on its own does not have an effect, but if you believe you can achieve this dream supported by stars or birtday wishes, you are likely to be more confident in achieving it. It is the psychological effect of belief.
So to sum up, don't be a cynical person that discards any positive effect from such stories like wishing upon a star, take the positive side of it and let it be a motivator for you to achieve your goals and dreams.
I haven't seen a shooting star in ages but I used to see them all the time when I was a kid. When I was a kid I was forever looking at the sky or star-gazing. Now I pretty much keep my eyes on the ground so I don't trip over anything in front of me.
Yes, I used to make wishes when I saw shooting stars. There's a trick to it, though. You must make your wish before you utter a single word. If you say, 'Look, a shooting star!' before making your wish it won't come true. Make your wish first then point the shooting star out to everyone else.
Did my wishes ever come true? Probably not but that didn't stop me from making a wish the next time I saw one.
I have seen shooting stars and have made a wish on some of them. I can't say that the wishes ever came true. I have been told you have to make the wish while the star is actually shooting. Most of the time when I catch a glimpse of one it is so short lived that be the time I make my wish it has disappeared so I have probably not made a wish properly.
I don't put much faith that anything will come of it but I have been told this since I was a child so I still am compelled to make that wish. You never know maybe one of these times everything may line up for me and that wish may come true and I can tell my story of a successful wish on a falling star.
The only time I have seen what seemed to be a shooting star was during the Perseid meteor showers when I was a teenager. Depending on the location, they usually are seen really early in the morning (or late at night depending on how you see it). It was almost like my eyes were playing tricks on me since stars are stationary. However, I didn't make a wish since that was the last thing on my mind!
Do I believe in wishing on a star? I don't really know, but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to at least try. I guess it's almost like praying, and just hoping that something out there is hearing what you want in your heart.
I've seen a fair few in my time. There's a meteor shower every August called the Perseid meteor shower. If you live somewhere with clear skies and not too much light pollution, you can catch one! They do happen all the time, but I believe that the Perseid is the period of most activity.
I have made a wish on them before, and so far they haven't come true. But hey, we can still hope!
Every year I go outside during the Perseid meteor shower to see shooting stars. I've seen quite a few in the past couple years since I've started. I've made quite a few wishes on them and while most of them have been centered on a certain topic, just wished for indifferent words, they've come true. I wholeheartedly believe in the power of wishing on shooting stars....
I've seen a few and I always make a wish, but just for fun. I actually saw one that looked huge because it was pretty close to the earth I guess. I was an EMT doing an out of state transfer and it was about 2am. I was driving on the interstate and I saw a big one go across the sky. It was pretty cool. It was around the time we were having the Perseid meteor shower that year....
I have seen a few shooting stars during my life, but I have never made a wish on one. I have never been the type who believes in such things, so I simply marvel at the wonder of the event....
Well I've never seen shooting stars but I'd love too. I don't believe they have magical properties of wish granting though, I just think they're awesome....
Yes, No & No....
