Is there life on other planets?

The universe is a big place. Do you believe that there is life on ther planets? If so, what kind of life?

Of course there is life on other planets. Most of it is undoubtedly very primitive, but life nonetheless. There may very well be life in our own Solar System, but not on an intelligent level. Any life at all would be an astounding discovery, but at the same time great care must be taken to keep any microbes, etc., well isolated from earth's environment.

Higher life forms almost certainly exist on millions of planets scattered through the galaxy and the universe. They may have life processes similar to ours, but they definitely WILL NOT look like us. There may be forms we don't even recognize as living. Even on our own planet bio-diversity is astounding. All life on earth had a common ancestor at one time, but through billions of years of evolution we have many thousands of species. A human and a starfish look nothing alike, though we are distantly related. How much different would we look from a life form with absolutely no relation to us at all.

We would not be related to any form of life on any other planet in another galaxy, so the chances of even remotely resembling each other is astronomically small. The possibilities are endless, but the one certainty is that they will be different.

Scientists have been trying to figure this question out for as long as we knew there are other planets out there. The problem is that most planets are so far away that it is hard to see whether or not they actually have life on them.

I like to believe in the Drake Equation. This is a scientific mathematical equation that predicts the probable number of planets in the universe that might have life. The problem is the numbers you plug into the problem are also just guesses, so nobody knows really how many civilizations are actually out there.

Since the universe is so vast, it is in fact unlikely that there is no life in the universe. Given the finite number of atoms and combinations of atoms, there is a large statistical probably that there is life on other planets within the universe. Moreover, there is good chance that there is life even within our own Milky Way galaxy. In fact, in 1961 Frank Drake developed the Drake Equation - a probabilistic argument used to estimate the number of active, communicative extraterrestrial civilizations within the Milky Way.

Although no one can say accurately whether there is or isn't life on other planets, scientifically it's highly likely given that the universe is ever expanding and the solar system that we know is only one of god knows how many. However if you consider religion, and how religion claims the world began, then it decreases the likelyhood of there being life on other planets. I depends on what you believe in, and what is true of the beginning of life which we will probably never know.

I believe that there are other planets with people on them, just like this earth. The universe is infinite. it's amazing to me the amount of knowledge that we have already of other planets. As technology advances, it is my hope that one day, we will be able to discover a planet with a life form of anything. Even if it includes evidence of life once before. That would be something to talk about.

It is possible that there is extraterrestrial life in our own solar system. Saturn's moon, Titan, does not have water, but it does have other liquids, plus a full atmosphere.

Scientists have found unexpected changes in the chemicals on Titan that might indicate that some life form on the moon is somehow using the chemicals and metabolizing them into others.

The universe is SO HUGE that I believe its inevitable that some other life form is out there, waiting to be discovered. As for what is out there i'm very open to the idea of almost anything.

I am of christian faith. I don't recall reading in the Bible that God said we were his only creation,so I think it is very likely that there is life out there very similar to us.

Yes there is life on other planets. Hebrews 1:2 and 11:3 tell us that God created the worlds - plural. They are just like us not little green men.

I personally believe that there is no 'life as we know it' exists anywhere or in any planet except the Earth in the entire universe.
